The Opportunity

Wesper is seeking a Vice President of Finance to lead Wesper’s next phase of growth who is passionate about scaling companies. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll be a key member of the executive team—driving financial strategy, operational excellence, and long-term planning across the organization as well as supporting the day to day finance operations of a face paced growing start up. 

You will serve as a thought partner to leadership and provide direction on financial targets. You will lead modeling, forecasting and day to day financial operations for as well as work with the executive team on providing timely financial information, insights, and recommendations to help support the Company’s growth and expansion.

What you will do:

  • Lead all core financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and accurate, compliant reporting.
     
  • Oversee cash flow, capital strategy, and investment decisions, ensuring strong financial health and supporting future growth initiatives.
     
  • Partner with executive leadership and investors, providing actionable insights and clear communication that aligns financial planning with company goals.
     
  • Ensure compliance and financial rigor, including tax planning, audit readiness, and adherence to accounting standards.
     
  • Build and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
     
  • Streamline and scale financial operations, driving automation, operational efficiency, and best-in-class processes.
     
  • Mitigate financial risk, while helping guide strategic decisions across the business, including M&A, international expansion, and innovation initiatives.
     
  • Operational Excellence Drive automation and scalable financial systems.Oversee vendor payments, payroll, and employee benefits. Define and streamline the company’s expense policy and related processes.

REQUIREMENTS

We’re seeking an accomplished finance leader with a proven ability to scale high-growth companies and navigate complex financial landscapes. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • A strong educational foundation: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA strongly preferred. Proven experience in leading financial organizations from $5M to $20M+ annual revenue
     
  • Extensive finance leadership experience: 10+ years in finance and accounting, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role—ideally within fast-paced, high growth start ups that are innovation-driven.
     
  • Strategic capital expertise: A successful track record of raising capital, driving revenue growth, and managing investor relationships; familiarity with IPO readiness and SEC reporting is a major plus.
     
  • Operational and technical finance skills: Deep experience across FP&A, cash management, tax planning, treasury, compliance, and financial reporting. Experience with managing hardware and service COGS and profit margins.
     
  • Analytical and executional excellence: Strong problem-solving capabilities and a hands-on approach to building and executing financial strategies that support business goals..
     
  • People-first leadership: Proven ability to build, mentor, and inspire high-performing finance teams in a collaborative, down-to-earth way.
     
  • Clear and confident communication: Comfort engaging with executives, investors, and cross-functional stakeholders with clarity and credibility.
     
  • Adaptability and innovation mindset: A passion for continuous improvement, technology-driven solutions, and evolving business models.

Bonus:

  • Background in wearables, medical devices, or sleep-related technologies.
  • Experience working in regulated industries.  
  • MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field.
